Keith E. Alessi
Keith Alessi is President and Chief Executive Officer in Englewood, CO. In addition to his work with us, Mr. Alessi was an adjunct lecturer at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan from 2002 to 2010. Prior to joining Westmoreland, Mr. Alessi had served as a senior executive officer for over 20 years at a number of public companies. Mr. Alessi currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Town Sports International Holdings, Inc., and MWI Veterinary Supply, Inc.
Douglas P. Kathol
Doug Kathol is Executive Vice President in Englewood, CO. He joined Westmoreland in 2003 and is responsible for operations and leading growth opportunities through new project development or acquisitions. He had a primary role in acquisition of four of the Company’s mines, the acquisition of the final ownership in the ROVA power plant, and the divestiture of the Company’s non-strategic assets. Mr. Kathol is a senior financial executive with extensive domestic and international experience in financial analysis, project development, mergers and acquisitions, treasury and risk management in the mining and power sectors.
Kevin A. Paprzycki
Kevin Paprzycki is Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer in Englewood, CO. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from Case Western Reserve University and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Utah. He joined Westmoreland as Controller and Principal Accounting Officer in June 2006 and was named Chief Financial Officer in April 2008. Mr. Paprzycki became a certified public accountant in 1994, and a certified financial manager and a certified management accountant in 2004.
Joseph E. Micheletti
Joseph Micheletti is Senior Vice President of Coal Operations located in Billings, Montana. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mineral Processing Engineering from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology. Mr. Micheletti is responsible for all five of Westmoreland Coal Company’s mining projects, overseeing the safe, cost effective, and environmentally responsible operation of the company’s mining activities. He joined Westmoreland in August 1998 and has held several key leadership positions at several Westmoreland mining projects, prior to his promotion to Senior Vice President of Coal Operation in June 2011. Mr. Micheletti has worked in the production, maintenance, processing, and engineering disciplines of the mining industry for 24 years and sits as a Director of the Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute.
Jennifer S. Grafton
Jennifer Grafton is General Counsel of Compliance and Corporate Governance and Secretary in Englewood, CO. She graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Order of St. Ives, and received her Bachelor of Art's Degree from the University of Puget Sound. She joined Westmoreland Coal Company in December 2008 as Associate General Counsel and was promoted to General Counsel and Secretary in February 2011. Ms. Grafton focuses her practice on SEC compliance, corporate governance, Board management, risk management and employment/ labor relations.
Morris W. Kegley
Mike Kegley is General Counsel of Mining and Operations in Englewood, CO. He attended Indiana University and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor in Law. He joined Westmoreland Coal Company in 2005 as Assistant General Counsel and was promoted to General Counsel in August 2007. Mr. Kegley's coal Industry experience has included broad exposure to legal issues related to mid-western surface and underground operations, and western operations on public and Native American lands.
Jonathan S. Barr
Jonathan Barr is Vice President of Sales and Power in Englewood, CO. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Political Science at Wittenberg University in Ohio. He started his career in the energy business with CSX Corporation working in the Coal Marketing department in Cleveland, OH and Huntington, WV. Jon held positions in Utility Coal Marketing and was the Director of River Coal Marketing. He has also worked for United Coal Company and Arch Coal Company in Sales positions, focusing on utility coal sales. Most recently, Jon was Vice President-Sales & Marketing at ADA Environmental Solutions, an air pollution control technology company, focused on the coal fired power plant market. This company specialized in developing technology to reduce mercury emissions from power plants. Mr. Barr joined Westmoreland in January 2011, where he oversees the sales of coal and the operation of the ROVA power plant North Carolina.
Jennifer M. Barton
Jennifer Barton is Vice President of Information Technology in Englewood, CO. She graduated from Colorado State and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and graduated from New York University and received her Master’s Degree in Business Education with an emphasis in Corporate Communications. Ms. Barton has many years experience in IT and ERP software consulting, support, training and project management.
Thomas G. Durham
Tom Durham is Vice President of Planning and Engineering in Englewood, CO. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla - School of Mines and Metallurgy. He has managed numerous surface mines and has worked in all coal regions in the United States and internationally. Mr. Durham is a Registered Professional Engineer and member of NSPE, SME, ASCE, CSPE and sits on the Board of Directors of the Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute.
Mary A. Hauck
Mary Hauck is Vice President of Human Resources in Englewood, CO. She received her Bachelor of Art's in Business Education from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Art's Degree in Computer Resources Management from Webster University. Ms. Hauck joined Westmoreland in March 2008. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
